Barnett & Turner is a firm which has a long and successful history in providing a wide range of accountancy and financial services to businesses and individuals alike.
The firm was established in Mansfield more than eighty years ago and has continued to expand and develop through a policy of delivering personal service and high quality practical advice.
Our roots are very strong within the local business and professional community and we maintain a strong commitment to the continued development and prosperity of the area.
“Barnett & Turner" combines the reliable traditions and stability of an old established firm, together with the capacity firstly to manage the changing needs of our clients as they develop and secondly to be pro-active in assisting them to fulfil their potential, by our association with the "Horwath" group of Chartered Accountants.
Barnett & Turner is headed by senior partner, David Wilson. David qualified as a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and as a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation in 1967. He has extensive experience particularly with owner managed businesses and the not for profit sector.
David Wilson and fellow partner, Yvonne Lovett, seek to maintain a close personal involvement in all aspects of their client's financial affairs, thereby ensuring that a general practice approach provides the ideal solution to dealing with the wide range of issues affecting organisations today, both efficiently and effectively.
The partners are supported by a team of experienced and helpful staff. We believe that appropriate training and ongoing staff development is fundamental to the long term success of the firm. To this end we have continued to be an approved training office for the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales at a time when many firms have cut back on this area of investment. Accordingly, we have an experienced team which comprises of qualified accountants, part qualified and student members, dedicated tax, payroll, VAT and book-keeping specialists, all of whom are supported by our reliable administration staff.
Barnett & Turner recognises the importance of information technology within the business and accounting environment. Managing these developments in a constructive and positive way enables us to make use of available software and hardware solutions to resolve todays business problems in a practical and cost effective manner which is appropriate to our client's needs.
Through many years experience the firm has become recognised as a specialist in advising clients involved in the medical and related professions, the retail trade, the legal profession and charitable organisations. We have a particular local expertise in auditing and assurance work, advising FOMB and pension schemes, as well as private clients.
We maintain a personal approach to our work and we are often able to assist individuals in benefiting from organising their financial affairs in a structured manner through appropriate tax planning.
